As a fashion brand, we are aware that it is challenging to become 100% sustainable, but we feel that it is our responsibility to do our best to minimize our impact.
VEGAN
At HVISK we have made a commitment to positive change - but it's a journey we have recently joined and we strive to do better every day. One of our first initiatives has been to become a vegan brand. We are committed to not using leather materials for our products, as we continue to explore new ways to produce and design.
PETA CERTIFIED
In 2019 we became a PETA certified brand. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA focuses its attention on areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffers e.g. the clothing trade. This is already embedded in our core vision and values. We strive to be transparent and honest in everything we do, so we can maintain our status as an authentic brand.
RESPONSIBLE
Our second initiative is to start working with more conscious and responsible materials. Therefore, we have introduced our responsible line. Responsible is the name of our selection of products that have a sustainable aspect.
The first addition to our responsible line is a strong 2-faced twill fabric made of recycled fibers from plastic waste, inspected and assessed in accordance with the Global Recycled Standard. The Global Recycled Standard is an international standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content.
PRODUCTION
Our production takes place in China (98%) and India (2%). We have a detailed code of conduct that each of our manufacturers must commit to. One of our preconditions is, that our production must take place in accordance with the reach regulations. Reach is an eu regulation concerning the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals. This ensures high level protection for all human health and the environment, from production to end use. By ensuring our production takes place in accordance with the reach regulations, we as a company ensure substances and chemicals used during production and in materials have all been tested, measured and adjusted to the current chemical recommendations - before it enters any market.
All of our suppliers are covered by a valid and updated Smeta or Bsci Amfori audit report which secures full transparency and social compliance within the working conditions throughout the supply chain.
